Paul is a qualified insolvency practitioner licensed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is a member of R3 The Association of Business Recovery Professionals.
With more than 30 years experience working in a big four accountancy practice, a leading firm of insolvency practitioners in central London, and co-founding Bailey Ahmad Business Recovery, Paul is a corporate recovery and turnaround specialist. During the course of his career, Paul has worked on a range of assignments spanning large-scale reconstructions to the wind-down of solvent and insolvent companies, and dealing with the estates of bankrupt individuals.
Tom is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner who commenced his career working at a leading firm of insolvency practitioners in central London before co-founding Bailey Ahmad Business Recovery in January 2007.
Tom has worked on a wide range of corporate assignments, with a focus on owner-managed and sole trader businesses. He also has experience dealing with the estates of insolvent individuals and assisting the effective implementation of Voluntary Arrangements between companies/individuals and their creditors.
After graduating from Sussex University in 2007 with a BSc in Psychology, Lucy began working for a firm of chartered surveyors in the audit and risk department.
Lucy later joined Bailey Ahmad in March 2009 as a Junior Case Administrator and passed the Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency exam in 2011. Since then she’s gained a wealth of experience in dealing with various types of insolvency appointments. In 2018, Lucy passed the Corporate JIEB paper to become a qualified Corporate Insolvency Practitioner.
Simon has a comprehensive business background and proven track record covering Operations and Strategy, with a focus on all things debt, including Credit Management/Control, Debt Recovery and Debt Litigation.
He started his career over a decade ago at an established debt recovery company where he worked up to Management, then moving on to head the Collections & Legal department at one of the UK’s fastest growing fintechs.
This experience has provided exposure to a wide range of businesses and time with their directors, giving Simon a unique, practical insight into the challenges and opportunities that SMEs face. It’s also armed him with the tools and mindset to tackle these head on.
Away from work Simon enjoys family life, gardening and getting out to play golf whenever possible!
Matt joined the team at Bailey Ahmad in October 2021, having worked in the insolvency profession since in the late nineties.
Matt passed the Joint Insolvency Examination Board (JIEB) examinations in 2014 and is passionate about finding solutions for companies and individuals who themselves in financial distress.
Matt was born in and resides in Poole, Dorset, where he lives with his wife, young daughter and their rescue cat named Whisky.
Outside of work, Matt can be found on the terraces of AFC Bournemouth and Poole Town FC, where he has had match day roles at both clubs for a number of years.
Sarah joined Bailey Ahmad in April 2018 as a case administrator, following an initial interview during a 20k walk for charity! She specialises in MVLs and works hard to support the rest of the team and strives to provide excellent customer service to our clients.
Sarah worked for Barclays Bank for 16 years and spent the last few years there in credit risk. She then moved on and was the attendance officer in a very busy primary school for 11 years, which proved an incredibly varied role.
Sarah is a really active person, who loves watching playing sport. But best of all are the holidays with family and friends where she has gone water rafting on four different continents and done a bungee jump in New Zealand and can’t wait to get back out there again!
Tony has more than 25 years’ experience in business recovery and insolvency and joined BABR in 2008 having previously worked for a small number of mid-tier practices. He is a manager of the team and focusses on progressing cases through to distribution, where appropriate, and closure.
Tony once won a competition with 250,000+ participants, having won a weekly prize in The Telegraph’s Fantasy Football!
Harrison joined Bailey Ahmad Business Recovery in May 2020 as a case administrator. In 2019, Harrison graduated with a 2:1 in Law with European Legal Studies at the University of Hull. During his degree he also studied in the Netherlands for one year as an exchange student at the University of Utrecht, living like a local!
Harrison kick started his career in Leeds, working as a paralegal at Ward Hadaway Law firm before joining the rest of the team at BABR and strives to build a career and reputation in insolvency. He is currently studying for the Certificate In Insolvency which he aims to pass this year, proving a fast-track into the profession.
Harrison loves running and cycling, following the Tour de France closely and had previously cycled up Mont Ventoux, a mountain in the Provence region of Southern France. He also loves spending time with friends and family, making the most of the weekends together.
Aaron started his career as a Trainee Insolvency Administrator in insolvency in October 2012 with Atherton Bailey in their Maidstone office. In April 2015, he joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson as a Restructuring and Recovery Assistant in their Maidstone office.
Aaron was promoted to Insolvency Administrator and obtained his Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency (CPI) qualification in June 2019. In October 2019, he joined Bailey Ahmad Business recovery as a Senior Insolvency Administrator. Aaron has experience in the dealing with the full lifecycles of CVLs, Administrations, WUCs, MVLs, CVAs, Bankruptcies and IVAs.
Aaron enjoys keeping fit, powerlifting, Liverpool FC and a good audiobook!
Irvine joined the BABR team in August 2021 as a case administrator, having graduated from Essex university with a 2:1 BSc in Economics. His focus within BABR sits with the onboarding and client care side, helping people through the process of insolvency.
Irvine hopes to take full advantage of the BABR talent track and center his career around insolvency, obtaining the Certificate in Insolvency and further qualifications.
Away from work, Irvine loves to be playing or watching sport wherever possible. He’s a keen cricketer, being captain at a local club, and loves the social side of sport. Away from this, he loves to travel and experience new cultures and foods, always seeking to see more of the world.
Susan joined BABR in January 2021 and has over 20 years experience at senior executive and director level. She enjoys supporting (organising) Paul with his diary and inbox as well as liaising with his networking contacts and fellow BABR team members. A fun fact: I used to play korfball for Great Britain.
Katie has over 25 years experience of supporting senior executives and joined BABR in April 2021, she relishes every moment of her role in supporting Tom and the wider team at BABR. Katie is married and lives with her husband and daughter in Gloucestershire. Fun fact about Katie, she’s ridden a Grand National Winner.
