Role purpose

Preparing documents and managing a portfolio of Insolvency cases. Effectively communicating with a variety of internal and external stake-holders.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage a large portfolio of corporate insolvency cases from cradle to grave.

  • Cases will include; Administrations, CVLs, MVLs, Compulsory Liquidations, CVAs, IVAs and Bankruptcies.

  • Managing case delivery incorporating pre-appointment, progression and closure.

  • Understanding key commercial aspects of the insolvent company’s business.

  • Providing regular progress reports to the manager.

  • Investigating Directors’ conduct.

  • Prepare directors disqualification reports.

  • Drafting Director’s reports and statements of affairs prior to CVL.

  • Managing asset valuation and realisation.

  • Providing recommendations for sign-off by the Insolvency Practitioner.

  • Attending clients’ site to secure the premises and/or assets where necessary.

  • Maintaining IPS case diaries and IPS set-up.

  • Deal with day to day correspondence, including non-standard correspondence.

  • Liaising with directors/individuals regarding new and ongoing appointments.

  • Annual and final reporting.

  • Deal with and adjudicate on retention of title, secured, preferential and unsecured claims with assistance if necessary.

  • Some data entry and scanning of case documents as required.

  • Complete appropriate banking and cheque request forms in order to ensure that estate monies are handled and dealt with correctly.

  • Complete VAT returns.

  • Adhere to statutory compliance and current legislation, best practice and policies and procedures.

  • Liaise with professional agents.

  • Update and maintain case checklists.

 

General skills required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)

  • Confident telephone manner – Liaising with directors and stakeholders by telephone

  • Access to full remote working set up including strong internet connection and space for dual monitors.

  • Experience with IPS and Virtual Cabinet.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

Experience required

3+ Years Insolvency experience but we will certainly consider those with the general skills required and a hunger to learn and progress.
